Arborist Practice

An independent study tool for the ISA Certified Arborist exam.

We help working arborists prepare for certification. We don't administer the exam, write the official material, or grade results.

Independent · Not affiliated with ISA

Arborist Practice is an independent study tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). “ISA” and “ISA Certified Arborist” are registered trademarks of the International Society of Arboriculture, used here only to describe the credential our software helps you prepare for. The official source for exam content, eligibility rules, and dates is isa-arbor.com.

Why we built this

The ISA Certified Arborist exam covers ten domains of arboriculture knowledge — from tree biology and pruning to safety, diagnosis, and risk assessment. Existing study tools tend to be either expensive printed manuals or thin question dumps that recycle the same handful of items. We wanted a single tool that lets you drill by domain, simulate a full-length test, and get a plain-language explanation on every miss.

What the software does

  • Practice questions covering the topics in the published ISA Certified Arborist exam outline.
  • Timed mock exams (50, 100, and 200 questions) you can take under realistic conditions.
  • Per-domain analytics so you can see which areas need more time before test day.
  • An AI study assistant that explains answers, defines terms, and quizzes you on weak topics in plain language.

What the software is not

  • It is not the official ISA exam, an ISA product, or an ISA endorsement.
  • It is not a substitute for the official ISA Arborists' Certification Study Guide.
  • It is not legal, safety, or professional advice. Always defer to ANSI A300, ANSI Z133, and your local regulations for actual fieldwork.
  • It does not track or report your study activity to ISA.

A note on the AI tutor

The AI study assistant is scoped to arboriculture topics. It is best at explaining mechanisms (“why does girdling kill a tree?”), comparing concepts (CODIT walls, branch collar vs. branch bark ridge), and quizzing you on weak areas. Like any AI, it can occasionally be wrong — always cross-check anything load-bearing against the official ISA study materials before exam day.

Pricing & access

One-time payment of $49 USD. Lifetime access. No subscription, no recurring charge. When the published ISA exam outline is revised, we update the question bank to keep it aligned — included in the original purchase.
