B. Explaining that preventive timing matters
C. Treating late as if it will undo existing leaf injury
D. Improving general tree vigor where site stress exists

Best answer: C. Many disease-management answers depend on timing. A late treatment may not reverse existing injury or affect an infection period that already happened. Monitoring and planning may be more defensible.

3. Sanitation timing

A disease overwinters on infected fallen leaves. The tree had moderate symptoms this year, and the client asks what can reduce inoculum before next spring. Which practice best matches the clue?
